In the exhibition “Amalgama”, these artists and their collected works are keyed to making a visual proposition in which the overall value of the physical experience of seeing and walking around this artwork is greater than the notional value that language can assign each in the course of a discussion or written interpretation. The most important amalgamation occurs in the viewer’s personal experience and it is most likely to occur outside of language, in a reverie. By using a combination of major and minor art techniques and by employing unanticipated combinational logistics, the works in Amalgama underscore the primacy of perception over memory, and of individual proclivities over historical predeterminations.
