The Brewery Project presents “Good Clean Fun”  a group show of well-crafted abstract paintings and sculpture by thirteen Los Angeles based artists.

“The paintings and sculpture in this exhibition are elegant, subtle, and graceful–alternatives to artwork that is purposefully crude or makeshift. Instead of resorting to the knowing awkwardness of “smart-ass abstraction” or “calculated slackerish neglect” or giving in to the current hype over honest badness, that is, experiment that sacrifices skill, these artists resolutely expose their facility and finesse. In place of sloppiness and trite irony, these artists rely on visual seduction and resonance. In this work, craft and dexterousness are not suspect, confirming that artwork doesn't have to be awkward to be authentic.”
