The Brewery Project presents “emergent behaviour", an exhibition of work by contemporary artists from Los Angeles curated by the project director, John O'Brien.
This exhibition presents:
a cross-section of
artists who work within the permutations of a determined series. The idea of
emergent behaviour comes from physics. It means that even when physical events
can be broken down into smaller and measureable entities, that it is still
not always possible to accurately predict the outcome of a chain of these events.
This is an offshoot of chaos theory. I believe it can be applied to this art
and the way in which these artists work in the development of their series.
